It’s fall along Minnesota’s North Shore and golden days await, friends. The Sawtooth Mountains that encircle Lutsen become illuminated with autumn’s favorite colors: the yellow-green poplar, amber-hued aspen, flaxen birch, orange and crimson maple. Off-set this striking forested landscape against a magnificent Lake Superior backdrop and prepare for your heart to burst wide open with humble affection for this wondrous state we call home! Earlier this month, our amazing photographer friend Elizabeth_after60 on Instagram visited 142C to take in the October vistas and she captured these amazing images of her Lutsen Mountain gondola adventure for us to enjoy. Eric and I ventured over to Superior National Golf Course to enjoy this stunning and scenic 27-hole course overlooking Lake Superior’s serene blue hues to the East and Lutsen Mountain’s vibrant green slopes to the West. We rented a cart + clubs, nabbed a to-go beer cooler + score card and set off for a relaxing game…
Motoring up Lutsen Mountain’s Ski Hill Road, you’ve likely noticed welcoming and playful signs for the area’s latest landmark: North Shore Winery and Sawtooth Mountain Cider House. Curiosity won me over and on our last 142C visit, I popped in during Bluegrass Sunday.

There’s a mix of emotions in the air today. A year ago, Minnesota’s music legend Prince suddenly left a huge whole-note-sized hole in the hearts of fans around the globe.
