Probably a thousand times. Most likely more. Driving through Schroeder, MN, there is a road sign for Father Baraga’s Cross that points toward Lake Superior. I almost passed this historical marker again on a sleepy 10.11.20 dawn. But, for some reason, as soon as I met the sign near to mile marker #78, I turned off to investigate this curious landmark.
